With high hopes and dreams we travelled north. As soon as we arrived home, we were inundated with people from all walks of life, each willing to share their knowledge of Maori Ronga, Native Plants, when to plant and what it meant when we heard the bird sound of the Pipiwharauroa and much much more.

Overwhelmed with our new found secrets, we visited our Nana's homestead. As we walked over our family farm and through areas of native bush we looked and listened. We heard the sound of the Tui's and watched Kereru flying over our heads, readily identified by the sound beat of their wings. We had come to the right place. Here we found what we were looking for, our Native Plants.

Growing up in the country our day would normally start with morning chores, once finished we were left to play.  Off we go and play for hours on end, only to resurface when we were hungry or someone had gotten hurt.

To our Nana it seems we were always in the wars. Nan would often send us to pick her plants from her back yard, or the surrounding areas of native bush, where she would boil, grind or chew to make her poultice. Nan would then place it on our ailments. It certainly did the trick to heal our many cuts, bruises, bee stings and itchy bites. Not to mention it worked on her animals as well.

We were very privileged growing up with our Nan, sharing her knowledge of Maori Rongoa and to have this instilled into us at a young age. 

Who knew that one day we would value this information and how it would help us build a solid foundation for our "Native Oil Products"
